OUR STORY
Hi there! We're Amy and James. We live in the beautiful
Angus Glens in Scotland with our son Alfie.
We wanted to combine the knowledge of our lifelong careers and our passion for working in the countryside to develop a project to help families enjoy and learn more about the world around them.
So after lots of discussion, we finally took the leap and
set up The Wild Spark in January 2024.
CONNECTING FAMILIES WITH THE OUTDOORS
This venture is more than about us selling a few nature themed products.
We aim to inspire families across the UK to be creative and adventurous wherever your wild space is - a garden, a park, a local forest or field, the seaside or the mountains.
We want you to be excited to get outside and help you find fun ways to connect as a family in the great outdoors.
SUPPORTING LOCAL AND SUSTAINABLE BUSINESSES
Many of our books and resources are designed and created at home by ourselves, and other items are created by other UK based individuals who share our business ethos and love of nature.
We believe in supporting other local businesses with our work, as well as running our own eco-friendly business with minimum impact to the planet.

My daughter was given the 'Off the Beaten Track' package earlier this year and she has now completed most of it - it's been an absolute joy. The level of thought and care that has gone into this product is far superior to anything else I've seen. The images are all absolutely beautiful, and I liked the careful blend of things that were easy to find with more niche discoveries. I really appreciated the way the searches are set out by area - country and town, beach and moorland, for example - as it meant this became a real in-depth project, to find everything. My daughter now asks for her book and pencil every time we go for a walk!

These cards are really lovely. They are ideal to look at before and after a day rock pooling. They are beautifully illustrated and perfect for identifying things you might see at the beach. I like the added interesting fact on each card too.
